1979, Trip #59 (Arizona): Witnessed the ancient Hopi Snake Dance atop a wind-swept mesa village. Painted dancers held live rattlesnakes, releasing them near tourists before swiftly retrieving the hissing reptiles.
1983, Trip #69 (Northern Wisconsin): Our yearly cross-country ski adventure proved parenting success: “Teaching children that winter isn’t dreaded—it’s fun, healthy, and joyful.”
1984, Trip #71 (Europe): Crossed the Spanish-French border at 10:15 PM, winding through Pyrenees mountains with dazzling night views of coastal villages twinkling like diamonds. (Would I drive those dark two-lane roads again? Probably not!)
